Real-time PCR kit for the qualitative detection of porcine DNA in low-DNA food and feed samples.

The DNAnimal Ident Pig HS IPC (LR) kit is designed for the qualitative detection of porcine DNA in food and feed matrices from which DNA of sufficient quality and quantity can be extracted. The assay targets a mitochondrial gene, providing exceptionally high analytical sensitivity due to the high copy number of mitochondrial DNA. It is particularly recommended for samples with very low DNA content, such as gelatin, or whenever maximum sensitivity is required. The assay detects DNA from both domestic pig (Sus scrofa domestica) and wild boar (Sus scrofa scrofa) without differentiation between the two. For laboratories routinely analysing pork samples, where the risk of contamination is higher, the standard DNAnimal Ident Pork IPC kit is recommended.

An Internal Positive Control (IPC) is included in the Master Mix and is co-amplified in every reaction to monitor PCR inhibition, ensuring reliable results and minimizing the risk of false-negative outcomes.
